Sr. Manager, Capital & Investment, OPEX EU (m/w/d)

As Sr. Manager, Capital & Investment, OPEX EU you will be part of our global Operational Excellence (OPEX) team and you will managing the annual capital spending for Magna Powertrain, Europe within the approved budgeted levels. You will work in a cross-functional and cross-culture environment. With your strategic decisions you make a significant contribution to the achievement of Magna Powertrain's goals globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze of capital expenditure requests with the aim of providing recommendations on next steps.
  • Review of divisional business plans in terms of capital spending for both awarded and unbooked programs in order to assist in the capital budget process.
  • Analyze, track and report overall capital spending throughout the year and obtain intimate understanding on variances from planned spending. Drive appropriate actions to meeting regional and global targets.
  • Managing the transfer of equipment between MPT divisions to support optimal utilization of the existing equipment.
  • Finding and proposing suitable alternative equipment solutions to MPT Europe plants from the global used equipment market.
  • Assist in the required approvals from Magna Powertrain Senior Leadership Team and from Magna International specific to EU programs.
  • Provide support for Global Real Estate expenditure approvals via Magna's process (REAF).
  • Maintenance and development of used knowledge databases/lists.
  • Develop strong relationships with Senior Group and Divisional personnel as well as with the Global Capital and Manufacturing Technology team.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Engineering or Business Finance
  • Minimum seven (7) or more years' work experience required in Manufacturing environment. Significant operational experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Magna Powertrain's products, plants, manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
  • Strong understanding of machine capacity studies, cycle time studies, labor efficiency studies, machine utilization studies, make vs buy analysis (outsourcing).
  • Basic knowledge of Magna financial systems and processes (and/or GAAP).
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and analysis related to capital spending (S3, IRR, ROFE, payback) and experience in developing of product costs (quoting).
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal & written)

For this position we offer an attractive compensation package that matches your individual experience and qualifications. The minimum collective agreement (Austria) monthly salary for this position is EUR 4.584,66 gross (14 x p.a.). Overpayment is possible according to your experience and educational background.
