Our customer HARPS Global is a fast-growing global manufacturer and end to end sales and distributor of infection prevention/protection products, predominantly medical and industrial gloves. HARPS Global was founded in 2015 by Malaysian entrepreneur Haziq Bin Zairel Oh, and HARPS Global acquired Sempermed in 2023.
HARPS Global is currently focused on realising the benefits of the acquisition of Sempermed, including the expansion of its multi-million dollar distribution network and the development of exciting new products.
HARPS Global employs over 4000 employees across 17 countries, predominantly in Malaysia, Singapore, Austria and America.
This requires regional accounting in order to coordinate the Sopron and Wimpassing sites.
We are looking for an experienced
Accountant Manager (m/w/d)
located at the production site in Wimpassing/Bezirk Neunkirchen
The role
The Accountant Manager oversees financial operations and reporting for both entities Harps Europe Manufacturing GmbH (Wimpassing) and Sempermed Kft, leading 2 Accountants, ensuring accurate accounting, intercompany coordination, cost control, and financial integrity.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Close:
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for HEM and Sopron, ensuring accurate AR, AP, GL, inventory, and timely Group reporting.
- Coordinate consolidation, audit, and tax matters, including VAT compliance.
- Intercompany transactions:
- Monitor and record intercompany transactions between HEM and Sopron, including packaging charges and service fees.
- Reconcile intercompany balances and resolve variances with relevant stakeholders.
- Cost Monitoring & Analysis
- Track and analyze manufacturing and packaging costs to ensure cost efficiency and accurate product costing.
- Support variance analysis and provide insights for operational improvements
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for both entities.
- Perform cost center-level analysis and highlight key deviations.
- Prepare cash flow and liquidity planning.
- Audit & Compliance
- Serve as primary contact for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and Group policies.
- System & Process Improvements
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Support ERP and system implementations or enhancements.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) is an advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with manufacturing or cost accounting exposure preferred. Leadership experience is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of intercompany processes and group reporting structures.
- Experience working with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Fluent in German and English (at least C1); Hungarian language proficiency is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
- Analytical thinker and problem solving- as well as continuous improvement mindset with detail-orientation regarding accurate reporting.
- Strong teamplayer but taking ownership with excellent communication skills, thrives in dynamic environments.
- Office-based environment with occasional travel to other company locations or external meetings.
