VP, Accounting Services Controller (m/f/d)

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic accounting executive to lead core global accounting processes at one of the most dynamic sports technology companies in the world. As VP of Accounting Services, you will oversee core global controllership functions, including revenue accounting, sports rights, AP, payroll, and capitalized software. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer in the US, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, financial integrity, and compliance across the organization.

This role is open for multiple locations: Vienna, London and New York!

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Lead global transactional accounting operations, ensuring accurate month-end close, ledger integrity, and adherence to IFRS across all entities.
  • Oversight and application of technical IFRS knowledge including revenue recognition, lease accounting, software capitalization, and stock-based compensation.
  • Partner with the corporate controllership, financial reporting, and financial controls teams to produce timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of SOX and public company standards to develop and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Serve as a key liaison with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful audits and ongoing compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing international teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, treasury, sales, and compliance to deliver insights and operational support.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA/CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-country accounting operations, ideally within a public or multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and public company SOX compliance is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or OneStream as well as experience working with international accounting teams a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and enhancing internal controls, policies, and processes.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and partner with a wide range of departments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and inspire diverse teams.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Experience working in a public company or with a multinational organization is a strong plus.

The minimum monthly salary for this position is according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.
